Sauvella: Wines with the character of the Pyrenees
Sauvella is a small family winery that planted its first vines in 2004. Our wines are natural, from organic grapes picked by hand and carefully selected. Wines made with dedication and minimal intervention: we only let the natural yeasts found in the grapes ferment. We take care of the earth with the utmost respect.
We grow indigenous grapes (sumoll, brocada, macabeu, grenache black, hare’s eye) and better known varieties (cabernet sauvignon, nebbiolo, primitivo, syrah, tempranillo). This diversity gives us the freedom to experiment with flavor combinations and to create surprising and pronounced wines.
Sauvella is located in a dream location, in a wide valley of the Catalan Pyrenees with impressive olive and oak trees and sheep grazing in the meadow. At the top of the mountain, the thousand-year-old Castell d’Orcau watches over the cellar and the vineyards, at the foot are the footprints of dinosaurs.
